When we remove your braces, we will begin the retention stage of your treatment. The retention phase lasts for a minimum of 24 months. During the first year of the retention stage, you should wear a retainer full-time. For the second year of retention, you should wear your retainer nightly, and 3-4 nights per week indefinitely.
Remember to remove your retainer before brushing and eating. Be sure to brush your retainer before placing it back in your mouth. Your final orthodontic result depends on your retainers, so follow through with the hard work you’ve put in so far.
